Mixing Plant Upgrades Completed

The new hot mixer has been installed exactly 3 years to the day after Phase 1 installation work started.

There were a number of challenges to this project including a 12 month delay for Covid and operational requirements followed by the Omicron variant threatening disruption prior to Christmas and eventually causing disruption during commissioning that created further hurdles.

A huge thanks must go to the following employees for their planning, and implementation over the Christmas break – Steve Coxill, Paul Davies, Julian Taylor, Jon Palmer, Steve Edmunds as well as Steve Harvey, Richard Wiggin, Cliff Simpson, Sigurd Odinsson and Tony Keeble. Danny Kosari, was also involved in the project specification, planning and commissioning.

We are now optimising the process of the new setup and currently running at an output with batch sizes 25% larger than pre Christmas. This will allow us to maintain production output during busy periods whilst still being able to carry out essential material trials, maintenance and development work across the Mixing plant.
