What to do if you wish to resign
Firstly, thank you for your contribution to Epwin.
To make your departure as easy as possible we have put together some information you might find useful.
Handing in your notice
If you decide to leave us, you will need to put your resignation in writing to our line manager stating the date you wish to leave.
I’m leaving process
Submit your resignation to your Line Manager, confirming your intended last day of employment. This should take into account the required contractual notice period.
Arrange to meet with your Line Manager for a discussion around your leaving arrangements, for example taking any outstanding annual leave. Your Line Manager needs this information to begin the leaving process with HR.
Please ensure that any pay and/or expenses claims are received by your finance team before you leave. Alternative arrangements will need to be made for any outstanding claims made after you leave.
If you have any company equipment (laptop, key fob, company car etc …) Please discuss with your line manager how and when they will be returned.
Check that the following details are up to date:
- Your new/forwarding address (your final payslip and P45 will be sent here)
- Any new bank account details
If you do not have computer access, please provide this information to your line manager or HR Team to update ay personnel@epwin.co.uk
Notice periods
If your employment with us is to be terminated, you will be formally written to and your line manager will hold a meeting and inform you and the decision will be conformed in writing.
The following periods of notice will be given by the Company unless otherwise stated in your contract of employment:
No notice is required during the first month of service.
Thereafter:
a) Weekly Paid Employees
- One week per year of service up to a maximum of 12 weeks
b) Monthly Paid Employees
- During probationary period – one week
- After probationary period – four weeks
In the event of gross misconduct or serious breach of the terms of employment, the Company reserves the right to dismiss summarily without notice or pay in lieu of notice.
Your Pay
Your final pay will be made the next available pay date.
P45:
You will receive your P45 form by post to their home address with their final payslip. As it is not possible for Payroll to issue duplicate copies of P45 forms, you should ensure that their address details are up to date on.

The company reserves the right to make a payment in lieu of notice at its discretion in the event of the termination of your employment.
On your last day:
Ensure that any important documents, emails or calendar events are saved or transferred over to an appropriate colleague.
Ensure any company equipment is returned to your manager before you leave.
Annual leave on termination.
You should ensure that any accrued annual leave is taken prior to leaving. However, under exceptional circumstances staff are entitled to payment in lieu of outstanding annual leave entitlement. Please make this clear when your Line Manager completes the leaver form.
Requests to take holiday during a notice period will be approved wherever possible. However, this may not always be practicable because of the need to complete outstanding work, hand over to a successor etc. The Company therefore reserves the right to refuse requests for leave during the notice period (subject to the requirements of the Working Time Regulations).
Where an employee is summarily dismissed or due notice is not given, any accrued holiday, other than the entitlement accrued under the Working Time Regulations will not be paid.
Outstanding holiday accrued but not taken by an employee on termination will be pro-rated. A payment will be made in lieu of such holiday and will be subject to deductions for tax and national insurance contributions.
Where the amount of holiday taken exceeds what has been accrued at the date of termination, the Company will deduct payments made for any additional days from the final pay.
