Cyber Security update – December

Why KnowBe4?

In this month’s update we will focus on why we use the KnowBe4 cyber security awareness platform. You will be familiar with the regular training, phishing simulations and assessments but why is this important?

  • The global threat landscape is ever changing, with states such as Russia, China and Iran increasing their malicious cyber activity.
  • Cybersecurity threats are ever evolving from a multitude of sources.
  • 70% of data breaches involved the human element in 2023.

KnowBe4 helps protect Epwin’s data, systems, and networks from malicious attacks and cyber threats. It provides the following functions:

  • User training utilising the world’s largest library of content – helps you understand the importance of cybersecurity, the latest threats and teaches you how to identify potential threats and respond appropriately.
  • Simulated phishing attacks which are AI driven – raises awareness using real world examples to help you become more vigilant when revieing communications.
  • Assessments – to understand your knowledge and develop training strategies where improvement is required and create a culture of cyber security awareness.

Cyber Security Training

December’s training will focus on holiday season cyber security essentials and by the end you’ll have learned simple tips to stay safe while using technology at work and at home. The module will take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and please do so within two weeks.

Reporting Suspicious Emails

Use the Phishing button highlighted in green to report emails to the ICT Helpdesk.

If you receive any suspicious emails, please report via the Phishing button. Also, if you accidentally open an attachment or link, and are then concerned that it may be malicious, please contact the ICT Helpdesk.
